Raw Artists Philly 2016

I recently had a chance to spend the evening with tons of Philly talent at an event hosted by RAW Artists Philly. RAW Artists has a pretty cool mission – support for artists, by artists. More importantly they give artists who are just starting out (everyone is in the first ten years of their artistic career) an outlet to show their work to people who may not have an opportunity to experience it otherwise. How cool is that?!

Melissa of Skinny Affair, and Tim and I hung out at the Troc for the evening, seeing tons of local artists with live performances happening on stage throughout the night. Tim was able to snap some awesome photos for your viewing pleasure as well!

There were hair models scattered throughout the crowd, plus paintings and photographs hung from stands throughout the venue. On top of all the visual awesomeness, there were three incredibly talented vocal acts. A couple of visual artists who really stood out from the night for me are Gabrielle Patterson and Eric Bubas, but there are seriously SO. MANY. ARTISTS. You can check them all out here.

Live painting was happening at this booth throughout the event.

My favorite part of the night was definitely the final vocal act, U.L. Music. A group of ladies came out and killed. it. I walked out at the end of the night repeating, “OMG I LOVE THEM! DID YOU SEE WHEN THEY..” etc. lol. They had some serious stage presence. You can definitely see the level of talent that comes through RAW when you look through these photos of the performers on stage.

U.L. Music – Tell me you don’t feel the energy coming right out of the photo?!

The next event is October 19th and you can get your tickets here. It will be at the Troc again, a cool venue for showcasing so many different kinds of talent. I am used to being there for shows, but never for anything where the lights were on and the venue itself was in the spotlight. Being able to walk between the main level and the balcony while you see different artists everywhere you turn makes for a cool experience. I definitely recommend checking the next event! Even better, maybe you want to sign up to be a featured artist??
